How to play · controls and winning
- Found your city. Submit catastrophe and governing-style votes. Bots cast independent random founding votes. The host starts play after joined humans submit. Your founding choices appear when you enter.
- Investigate before every vote. Open Places & players or select a city marker. Open “Hear the memory & current briefing” or ask a resident a question. Learn from at least three different sources this round. Opening the same source twice counts once.
- Review and vote. The counter shows your progress. Read the history and memories above the options, then cast a vote. Every player has a personal requirement; a teammate’s discovery does not count for you.
- See the consequences. Each finalized vote opens its chosen action and effects. After a project vote, discover three sources again before the resident-response vote. Their briefings reflect the current decision. You may revisit familiar places.
- Build and adapt. Place approved projects on open lots; each corridor has several lots. Neighboring governments make decisions during play that change supplies and ratings. Read their news before planning further.
- Check the ratings. Click Safety, Housing, Economics or Satisfaction for details. All begin at 0% in a new campaign. Six project-and-response pairs complete a year. Each annual review saves the four ratings; play continues for four years.
- Win together. The average of the four annual combined ratings must be at least 90%. A strong final year cannot erase earlier reviews. Home lets you leave and resume; the Chronicle preserves decisions, news and earlier runs.
Controls: Tab and Enter activate controls. Arrow keys/WASD, on-screen directions, touch or a controller move your character. Places & players offers the same memories and conversations without map movement or precise clicking. Use Escape to close reports. Larger text, reduced motion, pause and Home are in Menu. There is no voting timer. The host can close a vote early only after every joined human has made three discoveries.
